{"id":1158,"date":"2024-02-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-31T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shan-hd.de\/index.php\/2026\/05\/19\/viele-frauen-und-ein-mann-agnes-eta-isabel-und-lily-in-china-und-japan\/"},"modified":"2026-05-21T12:05:39","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T11:05:39","slug":"viele-frauen-und-ein-mann-agnes-eta-isabel-und-lily-in-china-und-japan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shan-hd.de\/index.php\/2024\/02\/01\/viele-frauen-und-ein-mann-agnes-eta-isabel-und-lily-in-china-und-japan\/","title":{"rendered":"Viele Frauen und ein Mann: Agnes, Eta, Isabel und Lily in China und Japan"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eta Harich-Schneider (*1894) und<br \/>\nIsabel Kreitz (*1967) geh\u00f6ren zu den K\u00fcnstlerinnen, die in manchen<br \/>\nKreisen weltber\u00fchmt und in anderen vollkommen unbekannt sind.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00c4hnlich verh\u00e4lt es sich mit den Journalistinnen Lily Abegg (*1901) und Agnes Smedley (*1892).&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Zu den bekanntesten Werken von Kreitz<br \/>\ngeh\u00f6rt DIE SACHE MIT SORGE, das vor 15 Jahren erschien (Hamburg, 2008);<br \/>\nso hie\u00df ein Kapitel in den Memoiren &#8211; CHARAKTERE UND KATASTROPHEN &#8211; von<br \/>\nHarich-Schneider. (Berlin, 1978)<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kreitz war als j\u00fcngste von diesen die<br \/>\neinzige, die Sorge (*1895) nicht pers\u00f6nlich kennenlernen konnte.<br \/>\nErstaunlicherweise beginnt ihr Buch allerdings mit einer anderen Frau<br \/>\nnamens Ruth (*1907), die wiederum Erinnerungen unter dem Titel SONJAS<br \/>\nRAPPORT ver\u00f6ffentlich hatte in denen am Anfang mitgeteilt wurde, dass<br \/>\nsie in China Ursula Hamburger hiess. (Berlin, 1977) Diese wiederum war<br \/>\nim Sommer 1930 mit ihrem Mann von Berlin \u00fcber Sibirien nach Shanghai<br \/>\ngereist, wo Smedley und Sorge schon vor ihnen eingetroffen waren.<br \/>\n(Harich-Schneider, Smedley und Sorge hatten vorher l\u00e4nger in Berlin<br \/>\ngelebt; Ruth war eine echte Berlinerin.)<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Erw\u00e4hnenswert ist in diesem<br \/>\nZusammenhang, dass die Berlinerin oft mit der G\u00f6ttinger Irene<br \/>\nverwechselt wurde, da beide vor\u00fcbergehend im gleichen Buchladen<br \/>\narbeiteten &#8211; auch ihre beiden Gatten kannten Sorge. Eine gemeinsame<br \/>\nBekannte war auch Sun Yatsens Witwe Song Qingling (*1893), die nach<br \/>\nihrem Deutschlandaufenthalt wieder in Shanghai lebte. Eine weitere<br \/>\nChinesin aus diesem Kreis war die Photographin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zo.uni-heidelberg.de\/sinologie\/shan\/nl-archiv\/2023_NL116_6.html\">Gu Shuxing<\/a> (*1897), die auch mit ihrem Mann (Chen) in Berlin gelebt hatte.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sorge wurde nach etwa drei Jahren<br \/>\n(1930-1932) nach Japan versetzt, wo ihn auch Smedley noch besuchte. In<br \/>\nder japanischen Hauptstadt traf er dann die Musikerin Eta und die<br \/>\nJournalistin Lily, die zwar in Hamburg geboren worden war, allerdings<br \/>\neinen Schweizer Pass besa\u00df mit dem sie sich frei bewegen konnte. (Abegg,<br \/>\n Sorge und Smedley schrieben alle &#8211; zu verschiedenen Zeiten &#8211; f\u00fcr die<br \/>\nFrankfurter Zeitung, die sp\u00e4ter zur FAZ wurde.)&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">W\u00e4hrend Sorge im Krieg verhaftet und<br \/>\ndann wegen Spionage hingerichtet wurde, verhielten sich Eta und Lily<br \/>\nneutral und unterhielten Kontakt mit den Botschaften.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Agnes hatte Asien verlassen und kehrte in ihre amerikanische Heimat zur\u00fcck; sie war krank und starb bald darauf.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">So konnten Sorge und Smedley keine Memoiren ver\u00f6ffentlichen; auch von Irene kam nichts.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Die B\u00fccher von Eta und Ruth wurden<br \/>\ndaher zur Hauptquelle f\u00fcr Isabel und viele Historiker.
