Die Reisen unterschieden sich deutlich. 1994 ging es mit dem Zug von Berlin nach Prag, 1996 von Karlsruhe nach Barcelona, 1998 musste ich nach Schottland fliegen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Die Fahrt nach S\u00fcdwesten war neu f\u00fcr mich und S\u00fcdfrankreich sehr sch\u00f6n; 1996 gab es besonders <a href=\"http:\/\/projects.zo.uni-heidelberg.de\/shan\/shan\/147.142.222.80_3a8081\/plone\/shan\/newsletter\/2012\/shan-newsletter-nr.64-juli\/heidelberg-wird-europaeisch-die-eacs-konferenz-in-barcelona.htm\">viele<\/a> Vortragende aus Heidelberg. In Prag war ich schon als Kind und hatte gute Erinnerungen daran. Edinburgh kannte ich ganz gut, da Schottland mein Lieblingsland in Europa war.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Die Konferenzen unterschieden sich in vieler Hinsicht deutlich:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prag war gepr\u00e4gt vom Ende des Ost-West-Konflikts und sinologischen Begegnungen von Leuten, die sich vorher nicht gekannt hatten; f\u00fcr mich war es mein erster Auftritt bei der EACS. Dort traf ich auch den schon recht betagten Professor Wolfgang Franke, der zuf\u00e4lligerweise meinen Vortrag h\u00f6rte, was zu einem gemeinsamen Mittagessen f\u00fchrte.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Barcelona war ein aufstrebendes sinologisches Zentrum mit gro\u00dfen Ambitionen und war von sch\u00f6ner Landschaft umgeben \u2013 und das <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zo.uni-heidelberg.de\/sinologie\/shan\/nl-archiv\/2012_NL64.html#5\">Essen<\/a> war toll. Mein Vortrag dort war wohl mein bester der letzten vierzig Jahre und motivierte mich dazu, sp\u00e4ter auch zur AAS nach Boston zu reisen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Die schottische Hauptstadt und die Sprache waren mir besser vertraut, die <a href=\"https:\/\/chinesestudies.eu\/?p=93\">Tagung<\/a> war n\u00fcchterner und man konzentrierte sich auf die Inhalte. Mein Beitrag dort war etwas ausgefallen, f\u00fchrte jedoch zu einer sp\u00e4teren Besch\u00e4ftigung in Leeds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President der EACS war zur Prager Zeit Marianne Bastid-Brugui\u00e8re, sp\u00e4ter folgten Rudolf Wagner und <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chinacentre.ox.ac.uk\/2017\/01\/29\/professor-glen-dudbridge-fba-1938-2017\/\">Glen Dudbridge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In den Jahren zwischen diesen Konferenzen war das Internet aufgebl\u00fcht und wir abonnierten Listen wie H-Asia.
